Mie Goreng is a wok dish made from noodles, vegetables, spices and chicken, meat or seafood. Mie Goreng or “fried noodles” is one of the most popular dishes in Indonesia and has earned the name of a national dish.
Originally, the dish probably came to Indonesia through Chinese immigrants. There, however, the dish has changed a lot due to Indian, Malaysian and ultimately Indo-Chinese influences.
The result is Mie Goreng as it is ubiquitous in Indonesia today and is offered in high-end restaurants as well as in small warung's or street stalls.
