Ayam Betutu

The Ayam Betutu spice sauce is a specialty from the Indonesian island of Bali. In the past, this dish was usually served at festivities or ceremonies where many family members get together. Even if the name of the dish is Ayam Betutu, which means “Chicken in Betutu Spice Sauce”, a duck (Bebek) can also be used instead of the chicken. By using more than 10 fresh ingredients such as ginger or turmeric, this sauce gets its uniquely intense, exotic, piquant aroma. You can either opt for the "original" variant, which is only a bit piquant due to the spices, or you can choose the "spicy" variant which brings an extra portion of spiciness with Bird Eye chillies. So if you want to bring the traditional taste of Bali into your home, Ayam Betutu is just the thing.
