Suwir Bali or "Ayam" Suwir is a Balinese wok dish that is based on either chicken (Ayam) or pork (Babi). The spicy sauce in which the fibrous pieces of meat are served gets its spicy, aromatic and intense taste from the ginger and turmeric tubers contained in large parts. Ayam Suwir is, if it is not served as a single dish with rice, an essential component of the national dish “Nasi Campur” (“Rice Mix”), which is very popular throughout Indonesia, where around 8-10 different main dishes are served in small portions with cooked rice.
